When my grandfather was in the Air Force, he was required to travel and move with his family frequently. My mom lived in a different state for every year of her high school education, and still my grandfather had to travel even more.

Farmers have faced an incredibly tough year as they have struggled to bring crops all the way to harvest with limited supplies of water. As such, the government has begun to take emergency measures to help out these farmers, in order to give them a sustainable crop load.

Take Vacations, my grandparents were blessed to live in a lot of unique places while he was in the service. When they lived Hawaii, they took advantage of the cheaper airfare and took their vacations to countries all over Asia that they would not have been able to go to otherwise.

Exercise for life! If you were in the military for a while, you know as well as anyone else that your body can take a lot more than we give it credit for. Military bearing , this is something that most people just don't understand. Military bearing is what people have when they are able to control their emotions and stand with confidence. One story of a military veteran who started his farm recently comes to mind. Jack Donner was a Lt in the Marine Corps and had pulled out his VA Loan to start a large scale corn farm in Iowa where he had been born and raised. His biggest corn yield was 2 years ago but the next year he left the season with a huge deficit and tons of expenses to pay off.

Either way, a great way to take your mind off the stress of missing your loved one is to plan ahead for the day they come home. And in order to avoid further stress, it is important to make alternate plans in case your loved one does not come home.

With all of these things you learn in the military, you can expect a major impact on your life. You may have your va home loan that you are staying up on religiously, or your job that you are just succeeding at, or you might just have the confidence you need to make it ahead, whatever it is, you can thank your military training to helping you get there.
