Community College Rappelling Fundraiser Ideas

By Barbara Russell

Community College Fundraising doesn t have to be a drag. You can learn about exciting ways that can help you acquire money for some of your rappelling fundraiser programs. It is all about appealing to the masses, what are people into today? You can t have a bake sale if you don t know for sure that people want cookies. Sure they could make some money but it might be enough to make the impact you seek. Here are some tips to help you reach your targets.

The first thing you need to note is that people like to win. If you want their attention and you want them to spend money, you need to give something in return. For instance, they can win a ticket to something or somewhere big. If you have got some strings to pull them, get a major corporation to donate something worthwhile. So they should pay to enter the competition, this big prize will get you a lot of traction.

You can pin departments within your school against each other. Basically, they should be in charge of accumulating funds on their own, for their programs. You must make it a competition, add a deadline and give incentives to the department that comes out on top. A department is an entire team, no one person will be responsible for generating ideas. It will be a group effort and that will improve their odds and help them find exciting ways to do this.

You can make competitions even more fun, get the whole school involved. If the entire student community manages to reach a certain mark regarding the gathering of money. You could throw a show for them, a concert that they will enjoy. If this doesn t rock the boat, you may go the silly fun route. The president could sing the cover of a popular song, choreography and everything.

You could offer naming rights to those who are able to reach the mark that has been set. If you have a new facility, new grounds, new anything basically. That gets to be named by the winning team, this name will stand so long as the college stands. This can make students and other interested parties feel more included in how decisions are made. This is good for the overall spirit of the school.

Rules change as the environment grows and changes. This means progress and evolution, as an idea you could run a competition that allows the winning students to remove or change a rule. This gives the students the push required to aim really high and gather as much money as they possibly can. You just have to set the terms and conditions beforehand. Such as which rules are open to change, because it can t be all of them.

Do classic with a twist for more buzz from audiences. To get more people to enter and participate, in accumulating money for the new programs. You should transform the classical walk-a-thon to a dance-a-thon. This can be fun and could certainly grab the attention of your students. Make it extra fun and give it a club like feel and get judges and spectators.

Whatever your cause is, there are plenty of ways to generate money for it. It is all about thinking out of the box or adjusting the box a little bit. You can be inventive or you can bring life to an older idea, to suit your needs.
