The Case For Branding Your Office Space With Interior Signage

Signage is an essential part of making your location known to your clients. Still, it's all too easy to focus all your attention on outdoor signs that you neglect the interior of your premises. It isn't just enough to present a clean-looking Des Moines office space. Indoor signs are of utmost importance in influencing people's perception of your business.

Among the harsh realities of running a business is that ingraining your brand in the minds of your clients is easier said than done. Marketing does help in this regard, but people are so inundated with promotional messages these days that they've learned to switch off. That's why it's important to make a grand impression on whoever comes into your premises. And what better way to do this than to put your logo and brand name right in their face?

The need to have a unique personality goes hand-in-hand with that of expressing it within and around your office. Considering that this is the heart of your business, it's fair to say that you'll never have a better opportunity to do this. The rule-of-thumb with fonts is to pick from your standard palette, but this goes hand-in-hand using a maximum of 2 per design. Make sure that they complement each other to make your message stand out. Speaking of which, the wording also needs to be legible when viewed from a distance (read large enough).

Choosing colors for interior signage is more of an art than it is a science. However you go about it, be sure to consider the environment in which each sign will be placed. Additionally, it would help to inform your printer of the color scheme you plan to use early on.

The whole point of signage is to grab attention, so why not make it fun? Yes, that's right -- even a serious office environment can have humorous signs. And while it's tempting to think that this will dilute your image, nothing could be further from the truth. Most people will actually appreciate the laugh, with some even taking pictures to post on social media. Just as long as you keep the humor appropriate.

It would help to keep track of your business traffic after putting up your signage. Think of this as a way of testing it out to see if there's anything that needs changing. Although this will require a bit of time and effort on your part, it's basically a journey towards perfection (or somewhere close).
